Zell am See Austria
The Zell am See Austria ski area is accessed from Kaprun by a 10 minute ride on the free ski bus (and the ski bus stop is only 2 minutes walk from our chalet in Kaprun.)
Zell an See Austria offers an extensive ski area with plenty of opportunities for beginners, intermediates and advanced skiers alike on the Suhmittenhohe. It's also incredibly pretty : most of the runs are lined by snow-laden trees which come into their own on days where there is poor visibility.
From January onwards, the huge lake in Zell an See is frozen, providing opportunities for skating, sledding, curling, or just walk - but watch out for fishing holes or you may come home with wet trousers!
